Are there any gluten free bread or bakery options? And if so, is there an up charge added for the option? Kind of a bummer having to pay extra at some restaurants.?
This place is fantastic! We go for breakfast whenever we visit our son at Macalester (we live in PA). The wait staff are all very good and polite. The breakfast menu is amazing and everything is delicious. I have trouble deciding whether to try something different or to order something I have had before. Their cinnamon buns and pecan rolls alone are worth the trip to St. Paul! In fact, we will be there again this Sunday--can't wait!
More1st time visiting Grandview Grill and was very impressed with the service and especially the food. Presentation, speed, taste and portions were all great.
MoreGreat food. Super service. Breakfast all day is great. Omelets are terrific.
Good service but just average food.
The country fried steak is terrific.
Great food in a good old school style dinner with clean interiors. Great portions. Their 9.99 combo of a cheeseburger, waffle fries and a malt shake is a classic. Enjoy.
MoreThe food was really good. I’m happy that my friends and I decided to give this place a try. I got the cookie dough pancakes and the Cajun Benedict. Recommend!Service was a little slow today, but the food was great.
MoreI just had a pecan roll but it was huge warm and tasty.
Great Menu and Excellent Food
You cant go wrong with a visit to grandview grill! Amazing food and friendly staff.
MoreFood lacked appeal on the plate, coke was so watered down I couldn't drink it, hashbrown portion too large and the toast was burned. I will not go back or recommend.
MoreThe Grandview Grill still has the best pineapple upside pancakes I've had in my human life. Yes, it's bougie, but it's delicious, and they have a ton of seating. Yes, it closes dumb early, but if you're looking for a late hangover breakfast, it's a great option. Lots of booths, good service. The prices for entrees is generally about 9-12 bucks for breakfast food, which is pricey, but it's very good breakfast food.Good for groups, definitely. It's a bit of a stretch pricewise for the standard diner atmosphere, but the tastiness compensates for the money. Not a staple local diner, but if you're missing that experience, it can fill the hole in your heart (and stomach).
MoreFood was excellent, as always. We had poor service this last time that I would attribute to the server, not the establishment. Large portions, well prepared and tasty.
MoreFood was great. Good service
Suggest smaller order of French toast with eggs like ours. Blackened catfish could have been spicier.
MoreThe Grandview Grill was delicious! The coffee was good, the food was good, the menu had something everyone liked, we were sat immediately at a table for 15 at 10am and the service was good. I highly recommend giving it a try.
MoreWide variety of breakfast entrees and super delicious
Great breakfasts. Everything you want for a traditional breakfast and a few extras. Spot on service and reasonable prices.
MoreEggs Benedict are yummy. Normal selection of breakfast fare. Caramel Rolls are delish
MoreGreat family place with super pineapple pancakes!
The BEST Tex Mex this side of the Rio Grand!Excellent service - super atmosphere - large portions - prices are very reasonable.I would give the Grandview Grill 6 stars if I could.
MoreWhen there with some friends and it was the perfect atmosphere for conversation. The wait staff seems above competent while be accommodating. It's located in prime location but depending on time of day parking could be slightly inconvenient. The food is simple but cooked to near perfection.
MoreAbsolutely love this place! So much room, great classic feel, delicious meals with great variety and perfect portions if you come hungry, and theres always plenty of smaller add ons as supplement if you're a hungrier person.
MoreThe blackened catfish sandwich is so good & the pineapple shake! It was a busy place with good food! It was amazing!
MoreI Was visiting from Davenport Iowa. My brother was amxious to take us here for breakfast. The food was delicious and the service was good.
MoreExcellent food great service, fun place
Always great home cooking, just like the sister restaurants--Uptown and Louisiana Grills. Often order the Tex Mex breakfast burrito, which is huge. Portion sizes often seem to be generous. Great neighborhood atmosphere. Breakfast and lunch are served (maybe dinner too?). Small parking lot, but plenty of street parking close by.
MoreWonderful food and attentive to food allergins.
Classic breakfast diner and really good food!
Great food and service
Great food! Slightly slow service.
Food was good. Service was great. Cant remember servers name but he was excellent. He has a deviant art page.
Morethis used to be a good restaurant for get-togethers in the morning with other elderly but I it seems to be that staff talk about customers and that's not right English Spanish people do understand even if they don't hear it..☹️☹️☹️
MoreGreat hamburger and malt. Love their waffle fries. Neighborhood cafe, prices seem high but food is very good. Decor has a diner feel, classic retro with a current twist. Lots of booths for small groups. Center has tables galore.
MoreOne of the best breakfasts in town! Great foods, awesome selection with some nice, Minnesota themed options. Super friendly, attentive and fast staff. Even on a busy Sunday morning, people were seated promptly. Big ups to Z in particular! Thanks for great service!
MoreGreat food! My mom always comes for the Tex Mex, and I come for the burgers. This time I tried the buffalo chicken sandwich, and it was awesome. Fair warning, it is much saucier than most, but just as delicious.
MoreGreat breakfast, love all their eggs benedict.
Biscuits and Gravy were tasty. Warm Caramel Roll was delicious too.
Great breakfast and a cute diner vibe
We have loved Grandview Grill since the first time we came here. Great homestyle food. Always great service. It's a nice, homey place to eat, visit, & enjoy each other's company.
MoreFun been going here since the 90'sGood food and good service
Good portions, very tasty food, inexpensive, friendly service, and nice menu with a lot of options without being overwhelming
Moreone of the best breakfasts around Grand Ave. They give a student discount too!
Standard diner fare - decent portions. The waitress was unreasonably upbeat. Don't be fooled by the promise of plump blueberries with the Zydeco French toast. The blueberries will be deflated. Despite the blueberries, which are just as delicious deflated as not (almost), I've gone here a bunch of times, and will go again, as the food is completely unsurprising, which is exactly what you want if you are going to a neighborhood diner for breakfast. It's an easy, uncomplicated, generic breakfast joint.
MorePortions are huge, I got the everything omelet!
It's pretty off-putting to have a health inspector show up and not have a manager on-duty to deal with. Actually it's disappointing to have a restaurant operated in this way. I thought the on duty staff handled the situation as well as they could although it obvious they are not getting the support from higher ups. The inspector seemed to be annoyed but patient. I got my check and bugged out out so I didn't have to see or hear anymore.
MoreThey were able to accommodate our group of seven on a busy Sunday morning. Unfortunately, the food was good, except the eggs were a little bland.
MoreGluten free food was good
Ok I went big on the chicken fried steak (with gravy) and eggs. Man it was good. Right amount of pepper in the gravy and the cfs was super tender.
MoreThe "special " today was awful! I don't know why I didn't send it back. The bowl of fresh fruit was great but the "avocado " was just a smear of gaucomole on toast and the eggs were stone cold with the egg whites that were completely raw and runny. I know their food is usually good but today turned out to be a very expensive $12 bowl of fruit! The fruit was the only thing that was edible. I really feel ripped off.
